COMFORT! MUCH DESIRED AND MUCH NEEDED

People are so angry and enraged!  Comfort is a basic need that is often searched for in all the wrong places.  The simplest things are so complex and people are exasperated before really dealing with circumstances or situations.  People cannot muster the energy for a smile or simple conversation offering the simplest courtesies. Simple matters escalate into major confrontations that threaten the peace of whole communities.   And fear is everywhere and has a grip over the people of the land.  People are tired, and tired of being tired, desiring relief and comfort.

But, did you forget that God has an answer for every depression, every burnout, every frustration, every anguish, and every rage.  And, He specializes in every kind of disorder, whether they be of the heart and or mind, He is able to relieve burdens and give strength to carry on.  He can still comfort the soul of man!

Don’t forget this!

“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!”  Says your God . . . Have you not known?  Have you not heard?  The everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.  His understanding is unsearchable.  He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.  Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:28-31 NKJV

Take some time and devote it to Him.  God still calms the storms and He can still calm and comfort you!

Claim these words written so long ago by Horatius Bonar and repeat them as your own:

“I heard the voice of Jesus say, ‘Come unto Me and rest; Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast.’  I came to Jesus as I was, weary and worn and sad; I found in Him a resting place, and He has made me glad.”

God is still talking and He wants to talk to you!  Take a moment to stop and listen.  He has a word for you.
