Scientifically, seasons are the result of specific and definitive movements of the earth on its axis. Those movements are tilts that occur like clockwork as the earth maintains its orbit around the sun. The earth adjusts its ‘tilt’ according to its plane of orbit around the sun, the source of light, energy and heat. The result is the different hemispheres are exposed to different amounts of sunlight during the year. Any ‘shift’ in the earth’s tilt means that the rays of the sun will cause the change in atmosphere and climate. The results are the seasons of the year, winter, spring, summer and fall.
Logically, it makes sense to consider that if there is to be any adjustment to one’s season, there should be a precipitating cause such as a ‘tilt’ in attitude or actions. There cannot be a season change without a tilting change.
Tilt means to move or shift so as to lean or incline. How are you leaning? What are you leaning toward? Where is your tilt?
Consider this: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV) Under all conditions or circumstances, tilt toward Him to trust Him with all of your being and “He shall direct your paths.” All of them and all of the time!
Has anything changed about your mindset, belief system, or general attitude about God or His word? If not, there is not likely to be a change in your season. Is your commitment level deeper and stronger about the things of God? Assuredly, one can expect to have new experiences, opportunities, or general feelings about the inner self if there is a willingness to go harder for things at a new level. Does one have a mind to obey God or to seek to fulfill His will and purpose?
There may not be any change in one’s comfort level or circumstance at all. There may not be any realized desires, hopes or dreams. Life or circumstances may not change when you make up your mind to seek the Lord. Your perspective should change and the general outlook on things will adjust with the hope that comes within. That is the experience of many around the world every day. In fact, some people risk everything, including their lives, to follow after Christ. There is no season adjustment or new results for many except their hope for the abundant life that is eternal. And that has more to do with one’s sense of ultimate reality and spiritual gains than material possessions.
Has your life tilted lately because your walk with God has brought you to a place you never dreamed of before? It may just be that the walk is becoming something altogether different from any expectation or anticipation you’ve had before. And, the walk can become the ultimate, without end.
Your tilt may make all the difference!
